The Katoomba Escarpments Estates sits within the UNESCO World Heritage Listed Blue Mountains. The site initially comprised of an 18-hole golf course, golf club and plans for 60 villas and a 120-room hotel. Due to the poor commercial performance of the golf course and club, the Blue Mountains Council closed its doors in 2014, leaving the balance of privately owned site to be repurposed. On RBG’s recommendation, the Golf Course was reclaimed as public parkland.
The team worked closely with the council to workshop several new concepts for the private land that was sensitive to the new public parkland purpose of the former golf course. The previously amalgamated site was broken into 4 parcels and relaunched as low-density villa product, a restaurant, and a high end serviced ‘eco villa’ concept.

In 2020, the Blue Mountains Council purchased the former clubhouse and plans to develop the building into an educational facility. The facility is intended to be a leadership centre of international significance in planetary health which will add to the already strong demand for short term accommodation.
By separating the land parcels and marketing each as their highest and best use, significant value was created for the landowners and surrounding residents
